Pitch to Power
SUMMARY OF PROJECT
Pitch to Power is a youth-led initiative that empowers Afghan-Canadian youth and other marginalized young people (ages 15–30) through organized weekend cricket sessions combined with leadership development and wellness programming. The project builds leadership skills, promotes volunteerism and peer mentorship, fosters intercultural understanding, and supports mental and physical well-being through sport and community engagement.
SUMMARY OF PLAN
Many newcomer and marginalized youth face limited access to leadership opportunities, social and cultural exclusion, scarce health and wellness resources, and barriers to volunteerism and civic engagement. Language, cultural differences, and systemic obstacles often lead to isolation and underrepresentation.
