Launch of the Renewed Neighborhood Equity Index (NEI)
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
You’re Invited: Launch of the Renewed Neighborhood Equity Index (NEI)
Ottawa, ON – March 26, 2025 – The Social Planning Council of Ottawa is excited to announce – an essential event designed to equip organizations with the tools and knowledge to harness data for advocacy, policy reform, and service delivery. The event will take place on April 10th, 2025 at 815 St Laurent Blvd, Ottawa, ON, K1K 3A7, Cafeteria.
The updated NEI offers a more focused and comprehensive view by evaluating urban and rural areas separately, allowing for more relevant comparisons and tailored insights. It complements existing social and health initiatives by providing a neighbourhood-level equity lens to support local planning and decision-making.
The NEI website is a dynamic hub featuring interactive maps, dashboards, data, and charts — offering valuable information for policymakers, social planners, community organizations, and residents. It helps identify areas of highest need, track changes over time, and guide investments and collaborative actions to build a stronger, more equitable Ottawa.
